DS didn't start walking until 15 1/2 months. I felt the SAME way as you! Everyone else at daycare was walking, so I felt something was wrong. Now, he's all over the place! Each child has their own pace. And even though we all tell you this, it won't stop you worrying. It will all be ok
My 13 mth old is just now taking a few steps at a time...he only started crawling at 11 mths! My other two started walking at 11 and 14 mths. I say absolutely do not worry, and if it does concern you talk to your pediatrician. Best of luck and no worries!
Mine started just before ten months, but my best friend has a baby nine days younger than my daughter and he didn't start walking til almost eighteen months. As long as it's before eighteen, they're on track and no reason to concern yourself!
My doctor said they want 3 steps by 16 months... My daughter just turned one and isn't walking. She has no balance! Haha! She is very vocal and can do other things a lot of babies can't. Every child learns differently and at their own pace!
My daughter walked independently unusually early 10 months old, however the average age for a child to walk is 13 months, that said I know perfectly health kids and adults that never started to walk until 15 months. As long as your daughter is aquiring new skills and interacting with her world I wouldn't be worried. However if she still isn't making progress by her 15 month check up I would talk to your doctor.
She took her first shaky steps at 19 months. Now at 21 months she's just starting to walk more often then crawl. She still crawls probably 30% of the time.
Re: When did your LO start walking?
DD: 14.5 months with caution, easily by 15 months
LO took 3 more steps yesterday! Feeling a little better about it all. She's just taking her time. Thankyou everyone!
