xp: Halloween in MN

Hi Minnesota momma's, i need your help! We live in Michigan, but my SD lives in Minnesota (twin cities area, i can get more specific if it would help), and we are going to visit her the weekend of Oct. 6. I want to make matching Halloween costumes for the girls and dress them up while we are there. Of course, this would be more fun if we had somewhere to go! I've been googling Halloween events all morning and can't find anything that early in October. I was hoping maybe one of the malls would be doing something, or the zoo or local apple orchards/pumpkin patches. However, everything I find is for later in the month. I understand this, but here in MI, there are a couple events that go all month long for the LO's for Halloween. I keep hoping to find something similar in MN. I'm not sure if I'm just not looking in the right spots, and was hoping to find someone local who could tell me if there are any events going on that weekend. Basically anything Halloween related that a 4 year old would find fun. If anyone from MN has any suggestions for me, I would really appreciate it! thanks!

That is still early in the month for any of the activities I can think of.  All I can think of is going to the apple orchards, pumpkin patches and corn mazes, but I don't think there are any costume events.

Valleyfair (ValleySCARE!) and possibly Buck Hill are the only two places I can think of that might be costume events that early in the season. 

Otherwise, I'd just stick to the apple orchards/farms...  Afton Apple Orchard, Aamodt's Apple Orchard, Pleasant Valley Tree Farm (outside of Menomonie), or Pine Tree Apple Orchard.  All are family owned which makes going there even better...

As one PP said, Valleyfair (Shakopee, MN) has Planet Spooky which is geared towards younger kids!

I've heard a lot about Planet Spooky at ValleyFair on the radio.  It started Sept. 22nd, and runs through Halloween.  Kids go in their costumes, and they have trick-or-treating, monsters, etc.  All the fun stuff without the more scary stuff in the daylight.  They also have ValleyScare at night if you're more into evening events.

There's a corn maze, petting zoo, pumpkins, etc. event place in Champlin/Brooklyn park border, at hwy 169 & 109th ave. that is open Sat & Sundays all through Sept/Oct.  They have a giant slide, corn pit, a pumpkin slinger (super cool!) and all kinds of kid stuff.
