I'm browsing amazon. Obviously, LO is a long way off from needing shoes. But I'm still looking. What are some good brands? I'm currently looking at See Kai Run. They're cute!
What style shoe would you say is most versatile? I'm getting sucked into the cute mary janes but I'm thinking something more sneaker-like?
Anything else I should consider?
Re: First shoes?
We started wearing shoes at 8 months. Of course, DD started walking at 8 months, 3 days. I couldn't imagine not wearing shoes right now!
We started off with Stride Rites early walker shoes. They were the only way to go in the beginning. They stayed on her feet and were comfertable for her. Anything else, wouldn't stay on her.
Now, she wears just about anything! Good Luck!
She can't even stand up! Our families are full of late walkers. I think we're still a good 3 months away from walking. So I was looking for shoes for her to wear then. She's good at daycare in socks. I can ask them what they suggest!
I also say she's going to need shoes soon!
I honestly still use a lot of those Robeez like ones. Easy on, Easy off. Great for people's houses/a quick dash to the store/places we usually go. I bought a couple pairs on etsy that have a more sturdy sole than the robeez. They're so cute too. I got a brown pair with a pink ribbon, a pair with a cow on them and a green pair that look like running shoes. Rubes also loves them more than all the others.
I also have two pairs of actual velcro shoes for the park/the barn/outside/somewhere she needs tons of sturdy or will walk a lot. They're Circo from Target. The support seems good, cute and definitely affordable.
I'm all about easy on, easy off.
She has a couple pairs of cheap dress shoes for dresses, but those don't get put on a lot. I love to put her in dresses but I don't get worked about coordinating shoes at this stage.
I'm a huge fan of pedipeds, because they're the easiest to get on her feet.
I bought one pair of robeez, and they're the biggest PITA to get on- she's never worn them out, they're just sitting on her dresser collecting dust.

I like shies with velcro that starts on one side, goes through a ring on the oher side, then fastens on the first side... KWIM? The first pair DD really wore were the Poppy style by Stride Rite. They fit her well and were very versatile - she could wear them with almost anything, including dresses. She had a pair of the more traditional "baby shoes" too, the white ones that come up kinda high on the ankles and have laces. I didn't like those as much because they were harder to put on. Plus it was summer and they didn't look that cute with shorts and skirts.
For the fall we have these: https://www.striderite.com/store/SiteController/striderite/productdetails?catId=cat1530399SR&subCatId=cat1530399SR&showDefaultOption=true&stockNumber=BG43282&skuId=***8********BG43282*W040&productId=8-133031& and love them.

They are soft soled so they are good for beginners. She'd worn them every day since she started walking 3 months ago.
We bought these today actually as an upgrade: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B007EIMYGE?dpm=1qid=1348452223ref_=mp_s_a_1sr=864
So far, so good.
Also a fan of Stride Rites shoes. They have shoes for all stages. DD is currently in a pair of the classic style walking shoe that is high on the ankle for added support. We got those around 10 months or so.
Planning to head in next week for more shoes in the sneaker style and some cute fall shoes now that she has mastered running and doesn't need as much support.
