Flip covers

For those that use flips, I am about to start cloth diapering and bought a few flips to use with prefolds.  I noticed that they are not gusseted.  Has this been an issue with anyone as far as leaks are concerned?

We came close with a pretty epic EBF poo with just a stay dry insert in, but the leg elastic caught it.

We, too, had some near misses with EBF poo, but everything was contained.

As if to prove his point, 48 hours after his last poo, my DS tried his darndest to poop out of the Flip with a stay dry insert in it. The poo went all the way up, but was caught by the fold over part that holds the insert and while it made a mess of the inside of the cover, nothing make it out of the leg elastics. His romper is clean.

I've never had poop make it outside the Flip, though plenty gets on the inside cover (especially with the Flip insert - it's less of an issue with my flats).

Nope. No problems as long as the legs are snug.

Never had the poo go outside the cover but it does get all over the inside when I use the Stay Dry insert.  When I use the organic one no poop gets on the cover.
