Got my third beta back finally. 300. My RE actually called himself. He is not optimistic at all. He said my levels should be 1,000 or above by now. He is concerned about a m/c or ectopic preg. I will go back for beta four Monday and a u/s but they probably won't be able to see anything. There's still a possibility it is viable but my re was all doom and gloom. This sucks!

When was your beta done at 14dpo?  If I go off of your siggy and assume Beta #2 was on 9/18 @ 14dpo and Beta#3 was today @ 17dpo, I get a doubling time of 48 hrs which is perfect.

Your beta's seem be doubling appropriately. I definitely wouldn't give up hope at all. Check out tab2710's blog for a wonderful success story. She had low betas after an IVF and has a beautiful daugher to show for it. Also 300 at 17dpo doesn't seem low to me. If your last beta was 107, 3 days before todays beta at 300, this sounds just fine to me.

I agree, doubling great.  It's more the doubling than the number anyway.  Also, most people aren't above 1000 until 20dpo from what I've seen which is pretty inline with where its headed. Basically it needs to get to 10,000 before the end of week 6 from what I understand, otherwise there isn't enough hCG for the heart to form properly. I did the math and with your current doubling time you should be at 10k by mid week 6. So for now I don't see why there is any concern over miscarriage. All 6 of my losses the numbers weren't doubling properly or suddenly dropped.  Fingers crossed for you!

Beta #3 was actually yesterday  (9/20) at 17 DPO i just didn't get the results until today.   Beta #2 was on 9/17.  

ETA: All betas were taken first thing in the morning.  I was waiting at the lab before they even unlocked the doors!

Thanks so much ladies!  The beta does seem inline with what I saw on Betabase so I was a little surprised by how negative the RE was. I could be a day or so off on my DPO though, I didn't trigger or temp this cycle.  I was just going by my surge and I usually O the day of or day after.  Even if my DPO is off by a day I wouldn't think that would have that much impact on the numbers.  I really hate that I have to wait through the weekend again. 

To make matters worse DH has been out of town the whole time with no cell phone access!   He's been emailing when he can but it's just not the same.  I really wish he was here.

Doubling time is still the same, 48 hrs, everything just shifted up by a day.  You can plug your numbers into this calculator just to check what I told you.  But your betas look great and doubling as they should be.  I don't know why your RE would tell you that you should be at 1000, I'm mad at your RE for causing you undue stress!

That sounds perfect to me! Your beta definitely does not have to be above 1000 at 17 dpo for it to be a viable pregnancy. My beta at 18 dpo was 460, and my little girl is sleeping in my arms as I type this . My RE was very pleased with my betas, so I don't know why your RE is being so negative.

Betas in siggy. Mine started really low and I'm now 32 weeks. Don't lose hope. I'm sorry your RE wasn't more positive.

I've had plenty of friends whose betas have not gone dramatically up. PP are right they seem to be fine.

My BF was told to have a DC she said no her betas were going up and she'd let nature take its course. Her daughter just turned two.

Hmm, doubling time between beta 1 and beta 2 was 36 hours.  Now doubling time between beta 2 and beta 3 slowed down to 48 hours.  I know they're both within the normal range but it doesn't seem like a good thing that the doubling time has already slowed down.

I agree with PPs. A beta of 1000 at 17dpo is strange. Mine wasn't that high at 17 dp retrieval and my nurse made a comment about how high it was. My RE only looks for 100 at 17 dpo or 17 dp retrieval. Best of luck for a great appt on Monday.
