As some of you may remember from a thread I posted a little while ago, we are renovating the bathroom in our home. It's our only full bath. We have a half bath downstairs in our unfinished basement. For showers, DH rigged up a camp shower and hung a shower curtain from the floor joists. The water drains into the large drain in the floor and there's a mat to stand on. It's better than nothing, but I absolutely HATE the set up. My confession is that I've showered less than I normally do to avoid showering downstairs (every other day, which for me feels like a week between showering. I normally shower everyday and sometimes twice a day). I don't feel clean after using the "shower" down there, and I have to fill up the camp shower twice to get my hair washed because it takes a ton of water to get my hair wet to begin with and to rinse out shampoo and conditioner. I have felt gross this entire month. :-( Luckily for me, we should have the bathroom finished by next weekend.
Not a juicy confession, but it's all I've got for now.
I took today off because I have a doctor's appt. I totally could have just taken a couple hours off, but I'm ready for a break. The sub can deal with the kids.
I adore my son and I absolutely love spending so much time with him. But if I don't get a job soon I may go insane. I have no idea how stay at home moms do it.
I have a few today. Just one of those days I guess.
- I was grocery shopping and the young woman in front of us was paying with her food stamp card/check thing which I absolutely will not judge someone for having to use. However she was talking on her hands free cell and had a venti Starbucks coffee in her hand. I couldn't believe the rage I felt. IMO if you need to use food stamps you should not be able to afford (or waste your money on) a Starbucks let alone a cell phone.
- My LO has a pretty much constant rash on her face. I cannot pin down what causes it, but I think she just has super sensitive skin so everything irritates it - food, environment, drool, rubbing her face when she's tired, ect. Whenever we go out people ALWAYS comment on it. "What did you eat?" is the most common one, but pretty often someone will say "Oh well at least you have beautiful eyes.". Oh like "well half your face is red, but at least you have one redeeming feature". I know they mean well, but I just want to tell them to F off.
After months of sleep trouble I decided to try the cry it out thing with LO. She has done great and has actually been going to bed at a decent hour and sleeping in her crib.
My confession is that although I miss spending the time with her that I used to in the evenings, I am so excited to finally have a few hours to myself.
I actually sat down at my computer last night and even watched Glee WHILE IT WAS ON, not two weeks later.

I have to agree with this one. It's happened with me a couple times. I no longer shop at that grocery store.

I'm really curious about your LO's rash. My LO has a rash of sorts that is not raised or seems to be bothersome, that has come and gone on her forehead since birth. The pedi always asks about it, but so far has only made sure I keep her out of the sun. I may eventually take her to a dermatologist, but the pedi is pretty sure that it's just a version of the mask of pregnancy and will go away.
I have lots of confessions. I'm probably going to spend far too much money on Halloween. And LO's birthday. And Christmas. I'm going to practically beg the people who can't get along to deal long enough to come to LO's birthday party. I had a double espresso and a dr pepper today, more caffeine than I usually have in 2 weeks. I got so mad at DH the nght before last that I almost didn't put on my ring yesterday to prove a point. But then I felt b!tchy.

LO has developed a rash on his face recently... started as what looked like a red mark from bumping his face and now has small little bumps and has spread over his nose. It's weird because in the mornings it seems to be OK and by the afternoon it is red and bumpy. After a week of it not getting any better, I took LO to the pedi (it is pretty close to his eye and that concerned me) and he immediately noticed that it matched up to LO's thumb. He thinks that LO probably rubs his eyes alot in his sleep (he has been rubbing them more while awake too... so we have to keep an eye on that) and that causes some eczema (no peeling or scaling as of yet, just red and bumpy). So the treatment is to put some baby oil on his rash every time we change his diaper. I also put a dose of cortaid on his face twice a day (this is supposed to help with redness). I can't comment on the effectiveness yet, but you may want to try cortaid. Doc says that if it doesn't show improvement in a week to bring him back in. Hope this helps GL!
