Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Where do you buy your diapers?

This is a repeat post from August 2010 moms... so my DD is 25 months and I'm expecting another in a couple months... but thought you ladies might have great insight here.

So, I'm all over the place.  I've ordered online through amazon.com and diapers.com, but generally buy them in stores with coupons (Buybuybaby, Target, Costco when I used Huggies, but now I prefer Pampers)Anyway, though we're working on PT, I will likely have 2 in diapers soon, so am actually trying to do my homework better on this.  I'm confused by all the different offerings of Amazon- Mom, Prime, Subscribe & Save(S&S), etc... but it looks like it's 5% off with S&S, total of 20% off with Mom... And then I can' tell if it's an extra 15% off of the already 20% off the Amazon Mom. ???When I looked at a size 3 box of 188 of Pampers Cruisers, it appears my best bet was still buying at Buy Buy Baby where I got them for $37.99 ($45.99 - $8 coupon from babies r us ad)

Anyone else do some better price comparisons and have some suggestions? Love to hear what you've all been doing.  Thanks! :)

Re: Where do you buy your diapers?

  • I shop around based on sales and coupons. I was strictly amazon for a long time, but even with the discounts the prices slowly crept back up and it is either more expensive or the same price as in store in which sometimes I order because having them delivered is kinda nice vs going to the store. We have prime, moms, and subscribe and save. Babies r us deals compared with coupons are pretty good, and target with coupons/offers are usually good too they have a coupon tab with printable coupons at the bottom of their web page in case you didn't know. I always combine store coupons with manufactures coupons and stock up when there is a good deal 35 or less per box. The confusing thing with price comparing is every store has different size boxes of value packs, so be careful if you price compare.. Make sure you look at the count and the price, not just price. HTH, GL!

  • We had a brief period of having 2 in diapers and now we have one in diapers and one in 'goodnights' for overnight since he isn't PT at night time. We use luvs for the little one (they work great for us but i know everyone has a favorite). Wipes for her is whatever is the least expensive, sensitive type. I'm not brand loyal for wipes. We buy all of this at BJs since even with the yearly membership (I get a discounted rate through my company), it is cheaper overall. BJs sends monthly coupons and more times than not (say 10 of 12 months), luvs has a $5 coupon and every month there are coupons for wipes. You can also use any manufacturers coupons on top of the store coupons too.

  • I pay for amazon prime and it is a great investment for us.

I bought diapers, wipes, formula, etc.  It would all get here within one or two days with no extra shipping costs.  Plus I buy many Christmas presents on it, etc., etc.

so it has definitely paid back and much, much more.

I renew it every year since it has been so worth while.

  • Sams club, for all baby stuff.  I love their brand of diapers, my SIL has been using them exclusively for almost 4 years now.  Their brand is pretty soft (much softer than WalMart or Target's generic), and reminds me of Huggies.

They have Huggies (size 3, just as a comparison), 192 diapers for 37.35.   Simply Right (their brand, size 3), 228 diapers for $35.38.

Wipes - their brand, 900 count for $15.98.

  • I got the target red card and save 5 percent on every purchase so I always buy my diapers and wipes from target. Its easier than looking around for a different deal everyweek and there prices are definatly comparable if not better than many. Also I will use coupons if I have them to lower the price even more.

  • I have 2 in diapers and we are members with Sam's Club so i used to buy diapers and wipes there. Diapers were a great deal when they were infants but now that they are bigger I find that I can get a better deal at Target when they are on sale and I usually have a coupon.  Wipes I still get at Sam's club.
  • Sam's Club mostly.

  • We use Luv and buy them from BJ's Wholesale Club (like a Sam's or Costco).  It's $29.99 for over 200 diapers and we've never had a leak problem!  We buy his nightime diapers from ShopRite to get the babybucks coupons!
  • Target!  Great price.

  • With the sales, coupons, and different boxed quantities as sizes change, I have found it is easiest to just quickly calculate the per diaper (per unit) price to make sure I'm getting a good deal.  At Costco, for size 4 diapers (Huggies Snug n Dry), we are paying about $0.21 per diaper without any coupons.  This is the cheapest I've found, so I use this as my baseline when I price diapers while I'm out and about or when I get BRU coupons.   At my local Kmart I would pay about $0.26 to $0.29 per diaper.

  • I used to get Pampers from Amazon for about 23? per diaper.  But they are so much more expensive now!  I prefer Pampers, but Huggies work just fine for us as well, so I buy them at Costco for about 19? per diaper.
