Had a runny nose/sneeze fest a few days ago, so my nose is all dried out and flaking. The constant nose blowing & wiping with the lotion tissues my DH so lovingly got for me to help the dryness caused me to break out in pimples all around my nose & my upper lip. Then, this morning I woke up to a cold sore on my lower lip! Add all that to the sudden unmanageability and frizziness of my hair and needless to say, Im feeling pretty hot right now. :-(

Just needed a place to vent. Thats all...

P.S. I dreamt last nite I was hooking up with Vinny from the Jersey Shore. Then I wake up with a cold sore. Coincidence???

I woke hubby up in the middle of the night because I had a "dirty dream" that I wanted to act out. then finally went back to sleep and Ialso woke up with a cold sore  

I usually can feel a cold sore coming on and I load up on my L-Lysine ointment.  I had no idea this ine was coming.  My 5 yr old SD gave me her cold this weekend so maybe that is why I didn't feel it coming.

Is Lysine ok? I dont have the ointment but I used to take the pills of it when I felt one coming on.

I am not sure.  I have always used the ointment from Basic Organics.

Dresch- I meant to tell you that I tried to find BO lysine ointment at Wholefoods- they had a lysine ointment, just not that brand and it worked great! Thanks for the tip!

I am so glad you found some relief from them. I used to live in Woodstock, Hippy Capital of the world. Yes there are still some left over?s from Woodstock 69?. Anyway, my chiropractor was the one who told me about it years ago. He is into trying natural remedies first. I can only find my brand online so I stock up on them. I would be lost without it.
