DD has been in her own room since she turned two months old. We'll switch her to a toddler bed when we potty train around 2y. The room will not change otherwise.
DD will move to a big girl room at the end of next summer (she will be 3) but that's only because her cousin will be going to college so the room will open up. Had we had the room to begin with she would likely have been in there since the beginning.
Right now she is in a room that is attached to our room (you walk through it to go to our bathroom). It works fine for now but it is small and sometimes she wakes up when we walk through there. Plus I still nurse and she usually wakes up once a night still so it is easy to go there.
And when you mean big kid room do you mean changing the nursery/baby theme? I would think most kids stay in the same room for the most part and may just have their decor changed. DD's nursery is very un-baby like anyway (other than the crib and changing pad on her dresser)

I guess I was referring to, switching the decor. DS will be in the same room, but I was wondering when to convert to a toddler bed and maybe change up the decor to be a little more "little boy" like, instead of the Winnie the Pooh theme we have going on right now.
