How long to adjust?

I know that each child is different, but I want to get an idea of how long a child usually take to get adjusted to preschool. DD1 turned 3 in June and just started at preschool, twice a week from 9-11:30.

First day was fine. Second time there were a lot of tears and "I don't want to go to school," "I miss you," etc., etc. It was the same thing this week (second week of school). The teacher are so sweet and say she calms down about 10 min after getting there but it is so hard!

The fact that it is twice a week and not on consecutive days likely isn't helping either. I know she will be fine, but how long did it take your LO until there were no tears with goodbyes?What did you do to help with transition?
