When will you put a.blanket over your lo. He is to long for sleep sacks and i think he is getting chilly or.just wants a little snuggle. Last night he woukd only sleep with me under the covers. I have never ever had him sleep in our bed. He was up.from 11:30 to 3 i feed him. Rocked him gave him tylenol ... any other suggestions.

Re: blankets

  • I put crocheted blankets (that have lots of big holes) in the cribs with my children starting at about 6 or 7 months - basically when they could sit up on their own.

  • He's had an aiden and anais blanket with him since 6 months. It doesn't keep him warm of course, but he likes to cuddle it.

  • I have been nervous to put any blankets in his crib since he could roll over. We live in an old farmhouse and it is really drafty and I was concerned that he was getting too cold at night, so we started putting him in fuzzy jammies at night and they having been working great for us!
  • I have the same issue, but my DS doesnt like blankets. It wont stay on and I swear when I put one on him he wakes up. (he does tolerate blankets when sleeping on my chest so its not sensory). I'm debating on cutting 2 holes in the sleep sacks:P

  • I just started putting a holey knitted blanket in his crib last week and at first it confused him but now he likes it an awful lot. He lays there all stretched out waiting for me put his blanket on and then he holds the edge and turns his head from side to side before snuggling in for the night.

  • We've been using blankets since probably around 5-6 months. My mom knits, so we have knit blankets with large holes (as in not machine knit).

  • We've been using blankets since birth... occasionally when he was smaller, dh would swaddle him. But he always managed to wiggle out of it...

  • LO's had a blanket since she broke out of her swaddle, so around one week
  • We started using blankets around 8 months or so. He gets a receiving blanket to cuddle with (it's his lovey) and a fleece blanket to cover up.

  • DD's had a lovey blankie from day one. At first I swaddled her w/ it; when she grew out of being swaddled I would lay it over her.. Now she moves around so much the blanket is never one her.. She snuggles with it.. I dress her in heavy fleece or flannel  footed pj's and I have a thick flannel blanket down over the sheet for her to actually sleep on.. Maybe try that if your not fully comfortable w/ a blanket in there w/ him

  • DD has been sleeping with a blanket since she was 2 months old or so, if you don't count the blanket we used to swaddle her. She hated the sleep sacks so she went right into footie pjs and a light blanket over her. Starting about a month ago I put the comforter from her crib set in with her, tucked it around the mattress and it covers up to about her belly and she also snuggles with her cotton waffle weave textured blanket which has become her lovey.

  • He snuggles with a blanket when he falls asleep so I just let him keep it. I dress him warmly so there isn't any concern about him getting too cold. We also use a sleep sack though. He's had a blanket in his bed with him since he could sit up by himself. (So about 7 months or so)
