my dd loves to climb on everything! she's got a rocking chair at my parent's house that she climbs into and out of about 30 times in a row. she tries to climb on the couch at our house and can't make it, so she gets really frustrated. the cushions are sewn into the couch, so i can't take them off for her to play with.

i'd love for her to get more exercise, but play places in the mall and such have older kids that play too rough. i looked into big foam climbing blocks, but holy moly, those are $1,000!

My little guy loves to climb as well! He keeps getting right up on his train table!!  eeekkk.

Anyways - I make a big pile of pillows and let him jump and climb the pillow mountain - he LOVES it!  Plus ... it's free

We bought a cheap little slide to keep inside that he absolutely loves climbing the right way and the wrong way.

 We take a kinderygym class on the weekends that is for his age group only, they have plenty of things there for him to climb on.

Everything.

The couch and chairs, his bookshelf, his tiny table and chair set, Anywhere Chair, dining room chairs, dining room table, kitchen counters (via dining room chairs), over baby gates. He also scaled a 4 foot pile of gym mats at open play at the gym a few weeks ago.

Whenever he's in a climbing mood, we head to the park. He climbs up and the playground equipment and slides down to his heart's content.

It gets old (for me) fast, but the steps are definitely his favorite thing.  Up and down, up and down, up and down.  He can get up his own (but I still stay behind him), but not down, so he wants to "walk" down the steps with me.

DD is up and down on the couch and chairs all day. When she's on the couch, she's trying to climb up on to the back, which is bad news because it's a tile floor behind the couch. She has recently started trying to climb up the drawers and onto the counter in the bathroom and over the baby gate at the top of the stairs. My dad's building a shop and we were walking by it a month or so ago and she made a beeline for the extension ladder and was up three or four rungs in no time. We're in trouble.
