more sleep help

My almost 18 mo DD is terrorizing my nights and I'm not sure what to try anymore.

She goes down at 8;00/8:30 most of the time she goes down okay ( I BF her and sometimes sit with her a bit and then lay her down and she settles and falls asleep) The problem is sometime between 11 and 2am she wakes up and it doesn't matter what we do but she is up for at least 2 to 3 hours. She will sometimes be quiet for 10 minutes but other than that she is crying unless I am holding her and even then she isn't sleeping.

We have tried bringing her in our bed but then it is just as long if not longer and she starts playing and pestering us. We have tried keeping her in the crib and sitting with her then you think she is asleep and leave and she is quiet for 5 min and then she is up again. Same thing with rocking her. We let her cry sometimes but that doesn't help either. I usually BF her once.

Plus she for some reason seems to throw up often at night (not sure why) but If she gets too upset then she throws up (sometimes she isn't even upset and throws up) and then you have to clean everything up and start over getting her to calm down.

Oh and sometimes i try turing on her nightlight and giving her toys in the hope that she will play and tire herself out and then go to sleep or atleast not cry so I can get some sleep while she is awake. But she just gets mad.

I don't even know where to start anymore. :( I just know we all need some sleep!

Suggestinons on methods that adress wakings in the middle of the night and not the initial falling asleep?

This has been a problem for quiet a while. although usually it was a few nights and then a few nights with 2 wakings where she would go back down. So now it is worse because the 2+ hour wakings are daily.

Help please!
