How do you like your Graco MyRide 65?

Just like the subject says...

I ordered one today from diapers.com (in Cuddle, tan and pink), it seemed like a good price point. Not too high not to low, and reviews seemed good but does anyone on here have it? What kind of car do you have it in?

We have a Nissan Maxima with leather seats, I'm excited to get it tomorrow I just hope I don't have to send it back.

  • We do, have used it for a few months now. It's big, but a good, solid seat.

  • I love ours.  DH said it's easy to install, especially compared to the infant seat base and isn't too hard to change the strap height.  DD seems very comfortable, I love the cupholders and the fabric on ours.  It is a fairly large/wide seat, but we have an Explorer and this is our first child so she's in the middle so it's a non-issue for us.

  • We have it in DH's Explorer.  It is a big seat and has easy to use straps.  His car is older and doesn't have the latch system so he had a little difficulty installing it to be stable.  I think he ended up putting a pool noodle underneath it.  It's good now.

  • I don't like then - and we have two (one for our 4 year old, and one for the baby). They are very hard to get stabilized where it only moves less than half an inch. Like, 2 beefy firemen couldn't install it right. The buckles also stick and are hard to latch. I really wish I'd bought two more Marathons (the twins use those) than the MyRide.

  • We've been using it for about a month:

    1. It's in a Honda Fit. It's pretty tight in there (middle seat) but still fits with driver's seat pushed back to accomodate DH.

    2. The local police dept installed it (via seatbelts bc no latch system for middle seat) so I can't say how easy/difficult that is. It's nice and secure though, with minimal movement.

    3. LO seems to like it fine. He has a lot of room and sleeps well in it when I'm driving, although his head seems to be bent over to one side.

    HTH!

  • We have had it in our VW Jetta for about a month now. We like it.

Maybe, like the Fit owner above, it is snugger and less likely to move because we have a smaller car.

Between reading the manual, adjusting the straps and actually installing the seat in the car, I think it took DH about one hour. He said it wasn't as bad as the infant seat.

DD seems comfortable and happy in it.

  • We have one for DD - it works well but I don't like that the cup holders are not removable. They get pretty gunky now that she is 3 and puts candy and snacks in there. For DS I bought a different seat (Maxi Cosi) that has removable cup holders, and I like it a lot.

It's a small complaint - overall I like the seat and DD is still comfortable in it even though she is as big as a 4 year old now.
