Hi there. Can you please let me know how you transitioned your baby from formula to cow's milk? DD turns 1 on Friday, so I'm curious how you all did it. Thanks!

I mixed in 1/4 WCM with 3/4 formula for a week, then continued to increase the ratio until the bottle was all WCM. It took a month overall for the transition but she didn't have any issues. I had to warm it though or DD would not drink it.
I don't have advice...just sharing my experience. This has been the one transition that has caused us trouble. I started introducing WCM at 11 months. DD doesn't like it and has made no progress over the entire month. We have tried mixing w/ various amounts of formula, using bottle, sippy, sippy w/ straw, etc. She takes one good enthusiastic gulp, grimaces, and pushes it away. I am not sure what we are going to do.
Her 12 mo. visit is next week. I am hoping ped will give us good advice. I have been tempted to try almond milk or flavoring w/ carnation instant breakfast...but have been waiting to get Drs opinion first.
Oh - and happy B-day to your LO. DD turns 1 on Saturday!
We *slowly* mixed in milk with his formula in bottles and offered plain milk in sippies at meals. We also cut down from 4 bottles a day to just 1. It took 2 months to fully transition since he has had some issues with constipation. Make sure LO is getting plenty of water also.

I'm going to preface this by saying we have two very easy kids
We transitioned by mixing milk and formula. With DD1, we worked up from 1/4 milk, 3/4 formula, to all milk, then started offering milk in a sippy at meals/snacks and dropped bottles. The transition to all milk took about 2 weeks, and we dropped all bottles by 14 months.
With DD2, we mixed milk and formula half and half from the start and kept it up until we ran out of formula, not quite 2 weeks. She loves her sippy, so we gave her milk "straight" right from the beginning of the transition and she loves it! We're down to one bottle of milk a day, first thing in the morning, and would have dropped that already if the pedi weren't insisting she still get it due to concerns about her weight. The rest of the day it's all milk and water sippies.

We started by adding 2ozs to her formula and have been slowly upping it. She did not like it at all at first, but is slowly getting used to it. I've tried giving her sippies of just milk but she'll only take a sip or two before throwing it.

This. I did 1/4 milk & 3/4 BM for a week then 1/2 & 1/2 for a week and then 1/4 BM & 1/4 milk for a week. My nurse said I could have done 3 days of each but I wanted to ease her in. She did well. I still have to warm the milk and she's been off a month now.
Re: Starting cow's milk
Our DS took to milk very easily.
We started by giving him a couple of ounces of cold milk in a sippy at meal times and he drank it without issue. So we continued from there.
