Hi everyone. I've posted but things have been so crazy I never really intro'd. I have 3 girls; 7, 17 months, and 13 days.
My 17 month old was born at 36 weeks and was in the NICU for about 5 days. My newborn was born at 34 weeks and is still in the NICU.
I disagree with them about her feeds, so I'm looking for some input. When my 17 month old was in she was born weighing 7lbs6oz and was taking 58ml a feeding when she came home.
My newborn was born weighing 5lbs9oz and after losing some weight is up to 6lbs already. The day she was born my first question was how much she needed to eat to come home, and I was told between 41-48mls. But now they want her eating 58ml a feeding. I think this is high. How was my other daughter, who weighed about 2 lbs more, eating the same amount? She's taking some feeds totally by mouth, but others she's only eating about 40-50ml and quitting. (And they tube whatever is left.) Sometimes even less (especially overnight.) But I feel like every day they up her ml amount.
Can you tell me what your LO weighed and what they were eating per feeding at discharge? I think I'm going to have to set up a meeting to discuss this but I'm just looking for some other examples to see if I'm just being crazy or if it's a little high for her.
TIA!
