Overlapping teeth?

Kaiden only has two teeth on the bottom and they overlap a little bit. I know that teeth being spaced out is normal, but I don't remember hearing about overlapping teeth. He's been teething for months and lately it has gotten miserable! I wonder if something could be wrong, like over crowded or something? That's why its taking forever and so much pain?!

ETA: I do have a dentist appt. scheduled in October. I'm taking DD to a pedi-dentist and they see kids 2 and under for free, so I thought I might as well do him too since I will already be there.
