Trigger shot tonight

new to the boards, and nervous about the trigger shot tonight - any suggestions for me?

We started our IVF process b/c of male factor infertility.  DH has been devastated, but I've been doing ny best to not let him blame himself.

Started Lupron 9/1 and added Menopur and Gonal F on 9/8.  Last ultrasound this morning had 9 mature eggs (all in right ovary, not comfortable, let me tell you).

Trigger shot tonight, retreival on Thursday morning.  Nervous, excited, scared, hopeful. A lot of emotions.

    I don't have any advice, since we aren't to that point in our cycle yet. But I just wanted to say Hi and welcome :) Oh, AND GOOD LUCK! :)

    Hello and welcome! Since you've been doing injections already the trigger shot shouldn't be any different really, just in your butt instead of belly. I have never had any side effect of the trigger and it didn't hurt (especially compared to Menopur). GL!!

    Congrats on your trigger! Hope it goes well. No advice if you've already been doing shots, you got this, easy peasy.

    DX: Unexplained/??? MFI issues

    Our lil' lost sparks:
    5w3d loss 7/30/10 - EDD March 2011
    8w loss 4/15/11 - EDD November 2011
    8w3d loss 8/2/12 - EDD March 2013
    4w c/p loss 10/29/12 - EDD July 2013

    Long story: trying on our own + testing testing testing with 6 rounds of Clomid, more testing, injectables + TI, laparoscopy - one tube blocked, 2 IUIs with Follistim...BFNs.
    RPL testing all normal, Karyotyping normal

    Moving on to IVF.

    IVF #1 April 2012 = BFN, IVF #2 June 2012 = BFP. U/S 7/23 = saw heartbeat but measuring behind. Follow up U/S on 7/30 - no heartbeat. D&C 8/2. Trisomy 12. IVF #3 Oct 2012 = Chemical Pregnancy

    Phone consult with CCRM on 12/12/12 - ODWU 1/4/13 - both tubes clear(!) - AFC 24, AMH 3.2, FSH 9.6, LH 5.4, E2 25. DH has high frag rate but improved!
    IVF #4 March 2013 CCRM. EP protocol w/ Menopur, Gonal-F & Dexamethasone. ER 3/29 & IMSI, PICSI. 43R 13M 10F 6blasts bio'd. CCS testing reveals 3 normals!!!
    FET 5/31/13 of 1 4AA blast - thawed and expanded. 4dp5dt BFP.
    Beta 9dp5dt = 181, 11dp5dt = 427. 1st u/s showed a healthy heartbeat! EDD 2/16/14

    After 4 years of hoping and heartbreak, our sweet little bean was born on 2/19/14
    We are so in love with her.

    I just wanted to say welcome and wish you good luck!  That is great news that you are at the point of triggering.  Thursday morning will be over with before you know it.

     Although I haven't had to give myself a trigger shot yet (the clinic did them for my IUIs), I would try to keep in mind that it is your last shot and you're almost there.  Just one more to go.

    I was seriously petrified of the trigger shot and was panicking for days beforehand. It ended up being NOTHING compared to the everyday shots. I thought the daily ones burned like hell in my tummy. I barely even felt this one go in my butt. I had MH count to 3, and it was over before i knew it. I had no side effects at all when it was done either. I hope you have the same reaction. GL

     Me (34)- no issues found MH (36)- MFI due to Vericocele. Straight to IVF w/ICSI 9/12, Antagonist. 9R, 7M, 5F = BFN c/p,  New RE for IVF #2- 1/13., Long Lupron. ER on 1/22 -10R, 9M, 9F. Transfer on hold due to overstimming. FET in Feb. 2 frozen blasts. Another BFN & another c/p. RPL testing all negative besides MTHFR gene, vericocle repair surgery 4/12/13-Bilateral Grade 3 Vericocele found & fixed, IVF #3 with PGS  4/13- 11R, 9M, 9F. Transferred 2 normal=BFN, 3 normal on ice. CCRM-here we come! ODWU-All test results normal. EPP in August. 21R, 20M, 19F. 12 blasts biopsied & frozen for CCS testing. Results showed 11 normal! FET Oct. 30. 2 5d 4AA blasts transferred. First ever BFP!!! Beta 1=216, Beta 2=870 1st U/S=It's TWINS!!! It's a BOY and a GIRL!! Everyone Welcome!!!

    I have had 2 trigger shots.  I ice it up good back there and don't feel a thing.  I was so scared of the first one and I didn't believe my dh when he said it was over.  Seriously ICE ICE BABY!!  And have someone else do it.  Like the first time dh did it and the second time he was oot so my dad had to do it.  Dh watched a video on how to administer the shot and then taught the family in case I needed it while he was away.  You have not lived until you have had your dh, mom and dad all circled around your butt.  The things we do!  Good luck though!  Just think it is one more step to a BFP!

    I am triggering tonight with ER on Thursday as well!  I think my trigger is still going in my belly and it's just like the rest of the injections - subcutaneous, so small needle.  I think it burns a little but no big deal.

    Thanks, i did feel like the Menopur burned just a bit more than was comfortable.  DH will have to bite the bullet and shoot me in the but!

    Ice - good advice!  My FIL is an OB-GYN and DH threatened to skype the whole thing so he could be coached live!  Could you imagine!

    Anniversary
    Tried to conceive on our own for a year before moving on to fertility treatments. Dx unexplained. About 10 months of procedures, shots, and countless doctor appointments, we got our BFP! BFN on 5 IUI's
    IVF#1 - ER 09/14/12, ET 09/17/12: two 8 cells, BFP: 9/28 Beta#1 56.8; 10/2 Beta#2 284; 10/5 Beta#3 939; 10/9 Beta #4 4967. One baby on board with EDD 06/07/13!
