It's a form of Adela---- "cousin" of Adele; according to Nameberry at least.

From my research, it's pronounced a-DEAL-ya. Kind of like Cordelia.

I love it. I think you'll get some mispronunciations, though.

I'm first generation Italian and one of the names that has been repeatedly used from the old country in my family is Adelina--have never seen Adelia

It's alright, but I LOVE Delia on it's own.

Love it.  I think just the opposite of it from others - it seems like an old name dug up on the family tree, not made up at all.  I think it's fabulous with Silas - both have a great 1870s vibe.
