It's been years since I posted on here and my goals have definitely changed! Last time it was about TTC, but now it's about adoption. A friend of mine in another state called last week and has found herself in a situation where she cannot keep the baby and asked DH and I to adopt it. She just found out she's pregnant and hasn't even been to the dr yet. We are holding off on getting an attorney until after she has her appointment, but my question is this....Is it better to get an attorney in my home state or in the state where BM lives? I've heard it both ways.
Thanks!!
P.S. Can someone tell me how to edit my signature at the bottom? I've totally forgotten!
Re: Interstate Adoption Attorney
I am working on a same state adoption with an attorney and he recommends we get an attorney to represent the e-mom as well. If she was in another state, we would've gotten an attorney in her state to represent her. Of course our attorney is near us.
Congrats and good luck!
