When did you ...

Move LO to their crib if you used a bassinet. People say 3 months but I'm not sure I'm ready yet. I think he is and I'm sure we'd both sleep better. He's only waking once maybe twice a night but there are some nights he grunts and I soothe him back to sleep by shushing. Do I need to let go??

Re: When did you ...

  • We moved from the R&P to the crib at about 7 months actual. We still used the R&P on occasion for a while, but tried to keep her in the crib at night. We actually put the R&P in her nursery instead of our room at about 6 months, then transitioned to the crib so it wasn't two new things at once.

  • We transitioned dd at about 3-4 months actual. I started by putting her in her crib everyday for naps, sometimes she would fall asleep others she would fuss and sleep elsewhere. I also got her the fisher price seahorse, like the old school glow worms, and would play that only at nap and bed time. (after she falls asleep I take it out of the crib) So she would associate that with sleeping. I was sooooo not ready to put her in her crib at night but knew it was the best for everyone, if not she would be 35 still sleeping in our room ;) Do you have a video monitor? That was/is my peace of mind! Good luck, it's a big step for us mom's!

Honestly, there's no right or wrong answer to this: it's more about what is/will work best for you and your LO.

This. DD slept in an RnP or bassinette til she grew out of those. Then she slept in her crib in our room til she was one year adjusted because I wanted to keep her close. After her 1 year adjusted bday we moved her to her own room and she transitioned fine. I slept in her room for a couple nights to be sure but she had no issues at all.

DS slept in his crib last night. He did great.

Mind you, we  have a really small house and his room in maybe 10 steps from us, so it's not like he's on another floor or anything.

Same here. I'm thinking I may try at 4 months actual. That gives me a few weeks to mentally prepare. I've been am to work for a few weeks and I need my sleep.  We do have a video monitor and an angel care monitor so I think that will help me to feel better!

  • DD stayed in hers until she was about 5 months. We now use a Pnp in our room. She has never slept in her room in her crib Embarrassed
