Has anyone seen an actual footprint through their belly?

I always check my belly when she pushes hard just to see if maybe I can see a footprint or handprint. So far nothing just a huge bump pushing my belly. Has anyone seen it? I always wonder how people get a photo of it too.

Once only, otherwise, i've been able to feel the shape of the foot with some serious stretching kicks.

Yes, it's freaky looking. She's constantly pushing her feet out, or her knees!

I dont' know if you are talking about pics like this:

But, I think these photos are fake...you would be able to feel it more than see it. The foot shape has to go through a tough membrane, your muscle, fat and skin. I don't think that physiologically, it would be able to make those toe prints.  Any doctors/nurses/anatomy experts want to weigh in?

Yes these are the photos I am talking about, and honestly unless the pushing is up high I can't see a lot of my belly. Besides how on earth did they just happen to have a professional ready to shoot the photo?! That is why I wanted to ask you guys and see what is said.

Those photos are clearly manipulations.  All you are ever going to see is that "huge bump"...no footprint or handprint.  Cool to feel, but not much as far as photos go.  I'm no medical professional, but I do have a degree in fine art/photography (and a little common sense).  Trust me, those photos are art, not real.

Um yeah it's anatomically impossible to actually see it that clearly.  There's too much fat and muscle in the way.  I've only just seen a bump and although I can feel the shape of his heel, the toes are impossible.

I think the only way you would see a footprint like that is if there was only skin between baby and the outside world.  The uterus, muscle, tissue, fat and skin are all layers that it has to push through.  I'd compare it to seeing a footprint through a sheet (that image) and seeing a footprint through a down comforter (reality).

It's definitely photoshopped. You'll see lumps and you may even be able to tell what they are based on approximate size and knowing your baby's position, but you aren't going to see an actual handprint or footprint.

That's interesting. I, too, wondered how people saw feet and hands when all I see are lumps and bumps.

Anatomically it's not possible to see defined parts like that unless the uterus is ruptured. So if you see a defined hand or footprint in your belly, you better run to the nearest emergency room. =P

In three pregnancies I've never seen that.
