Preemies

Intro, just in case

I have a bicornuate uterus and have had issues all along throughout this pregnancy (this is my first pregnancy). I have been having frequent BH contractions since 18 weeks. At 26, I woke up with heavy bleeding and contractions every 2 minutes. The contractions were able to be stopped at the hospital and they caused no cervical change, so I went home on bed rest. At 29 weeks, I had regular contractions again, this time they did cause a bit of cervical change, so I went home from the hospital on Procardia, in addition to continued bed rest.

I am now 31 weeks. At my recent u/s, my cervical length was back up to 3.7cm, so that's nice, long, and closed. Most days, the Procardia keeps my contractions at bay, but I do have days of increased contractions and crampiness. Will continue the Procardia until 35 weeks, so hoping it does the trick until then, at the least.

Just wanted to introduce myself in case my little guy comes early!  I'm very nervous about things and know it would be nice to get all the support that I can!

  • The preemie moms on this board are awesome and very supportive.  I personally think it's helpful for any high risk mommy to come over here and at least lurk.  If you end up term, awesome.  But if you don't, you'll know who's who and a bit of the lingo, which can be overwhelming.

  • Good luck!  I hope your baby keeps cooking for many more weeks.  It is a great sign that your cervix seems to be holding strong despite the contractions.  I had a uterine septum resection and had the opposite problem of cervical changes without noticeable contractions.

  • Hopefully you won't need the board but welcome and it's an awesome group of ladies if you do!

I love your screen name btw. When we were in the hospital waiting to see what was going to happen I listened to that song over and over. I plan on getting a small tattoo with three birds for that reason. I don't have any tattoos but always said I'd only get one if it meant something to me... And it does :

So don't worry... Every lil ting gonna be alright :

Thanks! Yes, we have been listening to that song throughout this whole pregnancy! And I bought a sign off etsy for the nursery that has the song lyrics. :) I have also said that I may get a small tattoo of 3 little birds. I'm not a tattoo person either but, like you said, this one would mean something. :)
