Pacifier wipes?

https://www.target.com/p/the-first-years-gumdrop-pacifier-wipes-100-count/-/A-13979796

Do you use these? Why not just use Clorox wipes, or baby wipes? FTM with no clue here. TIA.

Re: Pacifier wipes?

  • Baby wipes would make their paci taste like, well, a baby wipe, and I would not use a Clorox bleach wipe on something that goes directly into my child's mouth. Pacifier wipes don't have a harsh taste or smell.

  • The pacifier wipes are food grade, so every thing that's in them is safe for the baby to ingest.  Clorox wipes or baby wipes aren't meant to go in the mouth so you shouldn't use them to clean off a pacifier.

  • Ok that makes sence. However whatabout hands and face of the three which is best? Or do I need a 4th wipe?
  • You don't use clorox because your baby puts that in their mouth. Just rinse it under some water or something.

Baby wipes are fine for their hands and face. Please don't use Clorox wipes on your baby's sensitive skin (or your own, for that matter).

This. You won't ever need Clorox (or Lysol) wipes for use on your actual baby...EVER.

Technically you dont NEED any of them. Diaper wipes are super handy, though you could use a soft washcloth and water if you wanted. But since diaper wipes are safe on baby bums, they're safe for hands and face too. I wouldn't waste money on pacifier wipes at all. Put the soother on a clip so it doesn't fall to the ground, or if you need to, rinse it off with water before popping it in babys mouth. Dont use Clorox (very harsh chemical and disinfectant) on your skin or LOs skin or anything that will go in LOs mouth.

I reallyu am not as stupid as I sound, I promise. I guess I was asking about the clorox wipes for toys and what not.

I'm sorry, but is this a joke? Do you sell these products or something? Is this an attempt to "plug" these products? Surely, you can't think that you could use Clorox on your baby or on anything that goes in her mouth. If you must use anything other than hot water on the pacifier, go to your local baby store and purchase toxic free, organic, unscented wipes. Personally, we use very hot water and I carry a few backup pacifiers in my purse at all times.

Now that that's out of the way ;) We just use warm soapy water for toys. The only place I actually use Clorox wipes is on DDs changing pad when we have a poop/pee explosion.

No I do not sell Clorox. I am a FTM who knows nothing about children?s products. While researching I came across the Clorox website below. It states right there to use anytime spray for toys. Do you not sanitize your toys in a bleach/water mixture? If not, how do you? They said the anytime was good to use in between big cleanings. I am just trying to confirm. https://www.clorox.com/products/clorox-anywhere-hard-surface-daily-sanitizing-spray/

Sorry if my initial response seemed harsh. I was just taken aback thinking that you were considering using clorox products on your LOs pacifiers. Thank you for clarifying your OP. I don't use bleach water on toys. I put them in the bathtub with the hottest water my hands can stand and I use a nontoxic dish soap to wash them. We use all nontoxic cleaning products in our house. Some people are rolling their eyes at that as they read this but I can't stand the thoughts of "cleaning" my house with toxins or harsh chemicals. Now that DS is here I stand even more firmly behind my toxinfree stance. There is a really good affordable line of cleaners called "Naturally It's Clean" we buy ours at our local health food store but I know you can find them online as well. Even back when I used "traditional" cleaners in my home, I would have never cleaned anything for a baby with bleach.

    Thank you for your explanation.
  • I thought pacifier wipes were the dumbest thing ever.....then I had babies.  Now we use them when we are out, if I carried enough nuks for both of them to drop a few I wouldn't have any room left in the diaper bag!  They are kind of pricey so I don't use them at home but I make sure I have them when we are gone!

Does anyone use the Wubba Nub? And if so, do you put it on a clip and how do you do it? We have 2 Wubba Nubs plus one plain old Soothie but of course they're constantly on the ground. I find the pacifier wipes to be a must! At least for when we're out and about and I can't get to the sink to wash with soap and water. Plus I like that they're non-toxic food grade material and I'd rather use those for things that go in DD's mouth than regular baby wipes.
