We are foster parents who welcomed two awesome boys in our home 3 months ago. We are continually surprised by how well the boys are doing, but all of our frustration has been with "the system". We have had policies broken, court order violated and even laws broken. DH and I have been appalled and continually voice our concerns and escalate the issues. We just feel that it is our duty to make sure the boys' best interest are the top priority.
Well, this morning we found out that the main source of frustration for us has been transferred off of our case! I am hopeful that this means that the county is truly dealing with the issues present, which I think many are from a lack of training. But we are so hopeful that now things will now get back on track and the focus can be on the boys and reuniting them with their family.
Just had to share our good news since for a LONG time we have felt like no one was listening.
Re: So Hopeful and Happy
I hope the person wasn't promoted! :-P
Obviously, I'm just kidding, but I know how difficult it can be dealing with a bureaucratic, semi-political institution and trying to make headway. I wish you and the boys all the best!
I feel like I might have taken this to a new level! Ha!
LOL! I hadn't thought about that, but I'm hoping that isn't the case!
awesome!!
when our kids got a new caseworker i swear the skies opened up and angels sang

I'm really hoping this is the case for us. But I'm already a bit too jaded to celebrate just quite yet. But there can't be two social workers like this, right?
