Adoption

Adoption Prayer Group

Hi everyone, The Adoption Prayer Group is a support group utilizing the power of prayer. If you want to join I will assign you a prayer buddy and all you have to do is simply include that person in your prayers. Very simple-yet powerful!!! The complete listing of partners can be found under Prayer Partners. I usually post on Sundays. Feel free to search under Adoption Prayer Group and check in at whatever time of day. If you have any concerns, special prayer requests, or need to reach me outside of the bump please email me at suzannesteward69@yahoo.com.

If you want to join the group and be linked up with a prayer partner please provide the following info: your name, and if you choose your email address. If you?re not comfortable with posting your email address, please feel free to send me a private message with your email address.

Update: The Adoption Prayer Group has a new leader! A huge thank you to DaisyZH! DaisyZH and her DH are planning to do foster-to-adopt, officially beginning the process in 2013. They are currently researching and reading anything they can get their hands on. They have a DS that is 14 months old, they have always wanted to adopt, and after TTC difficulties they decided it was time to officially move on to adoption. Her first post will be on Friday, September 21st.

Prayer Partners: DaisyZH and Jdening, Joe?s Sweet Pea and Silliest Bunny, Katybug_h and Jen is Silly, Sugardumpling and Ginger71, babywisher and firecracker8, julandjo and cogbot, GnomeSweetGnome and srmmm09, kellz and Amber, Gracie Sue Nicole and Brenda, Porsha and pinkzebra, Honeydew and Potatohead, MandertheDB and Amy720, Layafette Girl and msamerica, Amyaggie 97 and lizlemmon19, Butterflygroves and Justplanelove.

This Week?s Events:

Praise: MarionB79:  DS broke 8lb today! They are so excited! Today's weigh in was 8lb 6oz. :o) They are all doing great! Please keep his BPs in your prayer. It's been almost 2 months since placement and she always prays for their healing. Praise is that they had them over for dinner this past week and it went really well. She loved watching them hold her little guy. They had not seen him for about 4 weeks and he's changed a lot since then.

Special Prayer Requests: Please let me know if you have any prayer requests. Amyaggie97: The BM ended up matching with someone else, but at least Amyaggie 97 and her DH realized that they were comfortable with the situation that was proposed so that opened up their options some.  So they are still waiting.  Please keep them in your prayers.

Zanymermaid: She is suffering from migraines. Please pray that she feels better soon.

Welcome new members! Please welcome Jdening, Butterflygrooves, Justplanelove, heaven22tw@yahoo.com, and mitzimoomoo2011@hotmail.com.

Reflection for the day: Every ending is a new beginning. I know that this is not a verse, but since this is my last post, I thought this sentiment was appropriate. Although, DH and I are closing the door on one life, we are opening the door to another. I will miss all of you ladies and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers for you and your adoption journeys. Best wishes always, ladies!

Question of the day:  Do you have a plan B for your life? If so, what is it? My plan B is working full-time as a librarian (which I?m currently doing) and building a rich and rewarding life with my DH, just the two of us.

Group updates: -If you have any upcoming events (appointments, birthdays, anniversaries, etc) be sure to let me know so I can post them in the events section!!

Re: Adoption Prayer Group

  • Thank you so much Suzanne! It was so sweet of you to do this every week for so long. You will be missed, and I pray that your new journey is abundantly rewarding and eventful!! :-)

Our plan B in regards to our family planning is to just enjoy our LO as much as possible, and maybe foster in the future. It is possible that we would go back to our RE, but I really don't want to. I really hope that this works out for us. As far as plan B's for life in general, who knows. I just try to take life as it comes and hope for the best.

I am in need of prayers for patience. I am just so ready to have this home study officially completed, so that we can actually begin waiting. I know that it will happen all in God's time, and even if we started waiting sooner it wouldn't make our baby find us any faster. I just feel like we have been in this phase for SO LONG and I am so ready to move forward :-(

  • Thank you for doing these posts!

    No new updates here.

Our Plan B?  We really don't have one.  I guess we would have to have that discussion if we get to that point.

  • Lots of love and prayers to you Suzanne, thank you for creating this group and doing such a great job Smile

QOTD: Our plan B would be to enjoy our DS and raise him as an only child.  I would love for him to have a sibling and my heart yearns for more children but we are so blessed and our plan B would just be to enjoy what we have been given.  I would probably pursue a new career in a few years, I'm not sure what though.

  • No major updates here. We passed the homestudy. We're still waiting on the background checks to be completed (backed up due to an audit of the state)... We're waiting for two references. But, in all honesty, the largest roadblock is our "temporary" houseguests moving out. It doesn't feel like she's even looking for a place 99.9% of the time. But, we'll get through it... God has a plan.... right? My "Plan B" consists of continuing to build a life with my husband. We'll live life as is now... but without the focus on bringing a child into our home.
    Me: 32, DH: 45... TTC #1 since May 2010
July - Nov 2011: Testing with OB... OB said everything looks good
March - Sept 2012: Moved to RE.. 4 treatment cycles - responses of one or no follicles
09.03.12: Diagnosed Poor Ovarian Response.. DE IVF only option
Feb - Nov 2012: Pursued Adoption. That door slammed shut.
    12.23.12: Surprise BFP (first ever)... 12.25 - 12.31: Natural M/C
