I kind of hate my moby. its just too much of a hassle for me when Im going somewhere. I recently bought a mesh shower sling because I shower with my LO, and he LOVES the sling! So I was thinking about buying material and making my own sling with a warmer material for fall and winter, but I have this huge moby that I'm not using and I love that material...
So have any of you turned your moby into a ring sling? Has it held up well? The only thing that concerns me is how stretchy the fabric is.
Re: Anyone turn their moby into a ring sling?
I wouldn't suggest using the moby - it's really too stretchy and is a bit narrower than is ideal for a bigger baby ring sling (assuming you want this to grow with you!).
Linen makes a great RS - you could do double layer if you want warmer. Silk is nice too although will run you a bit more of course

The stretchy jersey isn't going to do well in a ring. If you really wanted to try it temporarily (and without cutting the Moby) you could buy a sling ring and then look on The Baby Wearer for how to use a ring on a woven wrap. It would be awkward with that much fabric, but it could work for a test around the house. Really though, I say skip that and just sell the Moby and use the money toward what you really want.
