I am hooked on the name Elyse Katherine if this baby is a girl. What are people's thoughts on Elyse? Is there a different spelling we should consider? Would people struggle with how to pronounce it? We would pronounce it kinda like Eh-Lease. Let me know your thoughts.

This... I usually dislike the Y's, but in this case I quite like it! Great name

I am friends with an Elyse Katherine spelled exactly this way.
I like the spelling of Elise better. Nice name.

Thanks everyone for the feedback, I am thinking that Elise is the better choice for spelling based on your comments. I had forgotten about the "y" thing, and I am even one of those people who does find it annoying when people throw y's in names to change them up. I genuinely thought that Elyse was the traditional spelling because I went to French school growing up and my first thought was the French word "Elysees" as in "Les Champs Elysees". But it seems that Elise is the more traditional spelling of that name.
This! We are using Elise as a middle name, I think it is beautiful and I can't imagine any pronunciation problems regardless of which spelling you use.
I don't understand the hate with the Y. My name is ilyse and yes it's a really odd spelling but I know a lot of other ilyse's who spell it Elyse. I've never met anyone who spells it Elise.
Elyse is a perfectly normal spelling of the name and has been around for a long time. It's not a trendy version or made up.
ETA: It doesn't matter how you pronounce it... everyone will say it differently. Ah-leese, Eh-leese, it's all the same, trust me.

I love Elise/Elyse. I don't think anyone will have problems with pronunciation though there may be subtle differences regionally.
DH prefers Elise, but I knew a girl in HS named Elyse and like it better as Elyse.
My sister is named Elyse and she hates it. She always complains that she always always has to correct people on spelling and pronunciation. She has said this her whole life, for as long as I can remember (she is 29)
She said she gets Elle-see more often than any other mispronunciation. Even if she it spelt Elise I think she would still get the same issues
