I guess I will be joining this board since my two will be about 20 months apart.
I've been trying to come up with a list of things I will need for number two since I don't think I will need much of anything and was hoping I could get some input from everyone. Of course all the things I can think of are big ticket items lol.
This is what I have so far:
-Crib
-Dresser
-Glider (do I need another one of these?)
-Bedding
-Mattress
-Changing pad (do you have a changing area set up in each of their rooms?)
-Clothes - if it's a boy I guess I will need boy clothes
-Extra camera for monitor
-Double stroller
-Skateboard attachment for current stroller
What else do I need? I feel like I have soo much stuff from DD and thankfully I got almost everything gender neutral for her.

DD's crib converts into a toddler bed so I would need a new crib anyways, unless I were to just buy a seperate toddler bed which may be less expensive. I'm secretly hoping that DD will stay in the crib as long as possible though. I feel as though if she was in a toddler bed she would climb out in the morning and walk all around the house without us realizing. At least in the crib she sits quietly until we come and get her. Once she starts trying to climb out of her crib I would definitely need to switch her, but she's so petite that I don't see her being capable any time soon.
I'm in the "keep them in the crib as long as possible" camp for SURE. Although my boys are 21mon apart, due to extreme temperament/personality differences, I bet you my younger one will be out of a crib before my older. Crazy kid.
I LOVED that I still had somewhere safe to stick DS1 when DS2 was a newborn. If I had to run down to the basement while the baby was in his swing, or I needed him to NAP or anything at all...it was great to utilize as baby jail occasionally. Even now I'd feel uncomfortable with him being able to roam the house potentially at night.
Here was my list for DS2 (didn't need clothes or anything boyish, since they are the same sex). A lot may not apply, but maybe there are a few things you didn't think of:

My oldest are 14 months apart, so we definitely needed a new crib for DS when he was born.
Also, DD1 didn't move to a bed until 24 months old and I am glad I waited that long. DS is 21 months and is no where NEAR ready for a bed yet, so we still had to have a second crib for DD2.
My two are 18months apart. We bought older DD a twin bed and dresser and kept the nursery for the new LO. We have a changing station in the nursery and downstairs in the living room, don't really need one in DD's room since she sleeps through the night. You don't need a 2nd glider, although we have 2 because my mom gave us an extra one, it is kinda nice for putting each child to bed. However I would not have spent money on this.
Stuff we bought:
Double stroller
New bottle nipples
Milk storage bags, breast pads
Extra burp cloths and wash cloths
Boy clothes
Thanks everyone! This is great! I had definitely overlooked some things.
