Zantac ?

My lo was prescribed Zantac today for reflux.  Does anyone have any experience with Zantac?  Any advice?

We just started it this week. I think I've seen an improvement, but his reflux isn't completely gone.

Give it time to work (like a week or so) and then keep track of LO's weight and call your pedi if LO has a growth spurt/gains significantly to have it adjusted. Sometimes Zantac won't be enough and they'll prescribe either a different Rx or an additional one (for ex: my LO was on Zantac + Prilosec). GL!

DD has been on it for 2 weeks and we haven't seen any improvement.  The pedi is sending us for a GI consult next week.

Thanks ladies!  One dose in and no help.    But, I'll give it a week and hope for the best!!

My DS has been on it for a few months now, but still has reflux. His gastro doctor explained that it is not going to get rid of his reflux, but will control some of the acids so it's not uncomfortable or irritating his esophogus every time he spits up. He wanted to wait until he was at least a year to start him on something stronger. I am going to ask at our next appointment since he is 1 now.
