How do you clean broken glass?

So now that I have two mobile children, I am learning how unsafe my home is! (I thought I was pretty kid proof already!) last month DS pulled the phone charger, which knocked a glass bowl on to the hardwood and shattered. Yesterday DD knocked a bottle of BBQ sauce out of the pantry trying to get something else! Both times I wiped up the liquid, swept, then mopped... I still found shards later on that night. Is there a better way?

After you have swept and vacuumed/mopped, get on your hands and knees with a wet paper towel and wipe the area thoroughly without lifting the paper towel from the floor and keeping the same edge leading the whole time.

I have also heard tape or lint roller or even a fresh piece of white bread.  Sort of blot the floor (or roll the lint roller) and it should pick up the tiny pieces.
