Thats where being able to read reviews is good. Frankly, sometimes it just comes down to learning your personal preference through trial and error.

There is no dearth of sex shops here (NY). There are actually like 4-5 within a few blocks of my job. I?ve gone to the Pleasure Chest, though that tends to cater to gay men. Toys in Babeland is pretty awesome. I think it?s called Babeland now. Also this place Giggles, up by my house. Oh, and one of my BFF?s parents own a couple of sex shops. Again, cater to gay men, but sometimes you find a keeper.

There are any number of sex toy shops in my area.  There is one store I won't go to alone because the owner is really creepy, but the rest are just like shopping for shoes.  Everyone is there for the same thing, no big deal.
