DD hates the stroller

we have 3 strollers and a wagon and she throws a fit whenever I try to take her for a walk in any of them. She just doesnt want to sit in any of them. I try to distract her but that doesnt work. This upsets me because its beautiful outside and the dog needs a walk.

I am thinking FIL spoils her too much because he ends up just carrying her and goes for a walk. Or sometimes when they get her in stroller which I think she goes in better for them than me..they go for like 2 hour long walks..

Please tell me she isnt the only one?

Any advice?

Re: DD hates the stroller

  • Mine would live in her wagon if I'd let her. :)

However, she's convinced strollers were created in the depth of hell.

If I really need her in her stroller I got at nap time. If that doesn't work...snacks. Lots of snacks.

  • DD was like that too (even hates being in a car seat).  We just got her a tricycle with a push bar for us. She loves it and always wants to sit in it and be pushed around (regardless of whether we are inside or outside). You could always try that.

  • We have this problem on occasion too. Like you, I think ours came about via spoiling too. If she gets cranky, DH always takes her out of the stroller, or the cart at the store, or whatever, and carries her. I don't have a ton of advice, but when I am alone with her, I leave her in there because I often don't have a choice. She usually gets over it, though if it gets really bad sometimes we have to come home :(  Not fun.
  • Timmy was like this until we had Nick, then he loved them. Solution-have another kid lol. 'm sure I just jinxed that though.

Have you tried special snacks/drinks/toys that are  only for the stroller

  • DS really only likes the jogging stroller when I'm out running.  Trying to put him in a stroller for a stop and go walk is a big fail.  I wear him most of the time, though, so its not an issue for us.  He gets to be carried on my back so he can see what's going on, my hands are free to do what I need do/chase DD, and he's happy.  Win/win.
