My DH is stuck on this name. He almost does not want to discuss any others. I like, but I'm not sold on it. I'm Italian, he's Spanish, so it does work ... I guess. I am curious to know what comes to mind for you when you hear this name.
Thanks Ladies!
Re: What do you think of when you hear the name Mateo?
I LOVE Mateo.
I'm fluent in Spanish, have a degree in it, and lived in South America so I am probably biased
I can't get DH to go for any Spanish names unfortunately.
It's absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!

I had a Matteo in my class last year, he was so sweet and the named was perfect on him. I like it.
FWIW, he had a brother named Vincent.
My Ovulation Chart
I had a student named Mateo. He had the best grin. He had pretty severe ADHD, and it was virtually impossible to get him to focus for an entire class period. I used to make up jobs for him to do (ie: take this stapler to Ms. Smith and bring me back some post-its). He was always much better after he'd had a chance to move for a few minutes. It was occasionally annoying to deal with all his energy, but he had such a positive attitude that I wanted to help him.
He was Latino, but I think the name would suit a Spanish/Italian child well.
I know it as the Spanish version of Matthew. I think it's great if one or both parents have the roots to pull it off.
Love it! We know a Mateo whose father is from Spain, he's the most adorable little boy. It's a great name.
Yep, this is what I was going to say. Mark Consuelos's character on AMC. That's what I think of.
Me too! I think it's so cute, but can't steal it from her ;
