I'm buying shoes as needed. She seems to stay in the same size For.Ev.Er. and then overnight everything is too small. so I try to keep one pair of tennis shoes or something a size up, and then when she sizes up I shop for more shoes that size. I'm scared if I buy her winter boots a size up she won't grow into them until it's too late!
Seems different brands sizes are slightly different. I don't know. When I took her to Stride Rite last month, she was a 4, but very narrow. I picked up a pair of dress MJ's for her at Payless this past weekend in a size 4, and they were nearly too wide. I think, at least for now, I will get her sized every time I but shoes for her and the narrowness may be problematic. DH and one of his sisters had the same issue when they were little.

We got DS a pair of Stride Rite sneakers in 4.5 extra wide back in June. I have another pair of 5.5 extra wide that I got from Baby Steals. Still need to try those on him to see where he is fit-wise. I would be hesitant to buy shoes too much bigger in advance.

We got Audrey her first pair of real walking shoes in May. They were a 4.5 and she can still wear them. I got her a pair of 5s for this fall/winter. I don't foresee her being a 6 until next summer/fall.
We just took Connor to our local shoe store on Wednesday. They measured and fit him for new sneakers. My kid is seriously big foot...he is currently in a 6W!!!! I was shocked when the owner told us but he is loving his new sneakers.
DD is currently still wearing her 3's, but I bought 4's for the fall and I think she's very close to making the switch. Although she's very tall, she has small feet like her mom
I was visiting Stride Rite a couple weeks back and they told me on average a toddler's shoe size will go up every 3 months or so.

I just had DD measured about 2 weeks ago at Stride Rite to get her some sneakers. They told me to expect her to need a new size every 3 months or so. I'm not buying any shoes ahead of time because they aren't cheap and I like to get her measured for each new pair.

Those boots are adorable! I would like to find some for DS for the fall. When we buy shoes at Stride Rite we do the BOGO 50% off. We then buy the size he currently needs and one a bigger size so we have them on hand when we need to move up.
