With my first, it was right near Christmas time, so I put the test in a little jewelry box and gave it to him as if it was a gift that was given to me, and said "look what I got today."
With my second, third, and fourth BFP's I just told him after I took the test, no big deal made at all.

Our little man is getting bigger every day! My BFP Chart
My first pregnant I took a test from the dollar store in the morning before work and I thought it came back positive but it was faint enough that I didn't feel comfortable trusting a test that cost $1.00. I left my sleeping DH at home and quick ran to Walmart before work.
I bought a test, took it at work and called my DH and said "I think I'm pregnant"
Let me just say that this is not at ALL the way that I would have imagined telling him.
I got a chance to redeem myself 3 months later when I got another BFP and I did the same thing. Called him up and told him.
At least I was quick to get to the point, right? lol
I was out of town and not with DH when I took my test. I called and left him a message that he needed to call me, but then I took a picture of the test and texted it to him because I just couldn't wait to break the news. We had been trying for a few months, so it wasn't exactly a surprise.
We had been trying for a long time so when I took the test I made him look at it because I had been disappointed so may times before. He came in with the stick and said "well...we're going to need a bigger house!" So in all reality, he told me
Aww, sweet.
I just said "We're having a baby." I didn't know what else to say. At my first u/s a month later, we found out it was twins. He was ecstatic; I was incoherent and scared.
I took a cheapie test and saw the faintest line. I thought for sure my eyes were playing tricks on me since we'd been trying for almost a year, and I tested every month and never saw anything. I showed it to DH who told me to get a digital one. So, I bought one that night, and took it the next morning. I walked out of the bathroom and handed it to him, didn't say anything. He looked at it and just said "Really??" with a big smile on his face. Then we hugged and kissed, and layed in bed together the rest of the morning.
We had just put the girls down to bed, and I told him that I had something to show him. I handed him the pee stick (which I had taken that afternoon while at work -- bad idea by the way). He eyes got all big and excited. He ask if it was real. I told him it was, and he did this funny dance that he does when he finds out someone is having a baby. I should probably mention that we had to do IVF to get the girls, and my DH loves babies and would love to have a HUGE family.
We had been trying for a year, so we were on high alert for symptoms. He suspected I was pregnant before I did, because I was super tired and passing out on the couch during the day. I was at the point where I'd been let down so many times before that I'd given up getting excited.
Anyway, we had a crapload of dollar store tests in the bathroom. Before bed DH told me to take one because he "knew" I was pregnant. I told him I'd wait until morning. I ended up waking up at 5am dying to pee, so I POAS and lo and behold, a few seconds after I assumed I wasn't getting that second line, it developed. So I started bawling, ran into the bedroom, woke him up and shoved my pee stick in his face.
Needless to say it didn't actually sink in for him until around 9am when he woke up for real.
My husband was working in South America at the time. He was having lunch with a couple of co-workers. He knew I was taking a test, but when I called his phone, he didn't answer. So I took a picture of the 3 positive tests and texted it to him. No words, just the picture. We were both in SHOCK.
I took a test but the line was so faint I didn't believe it... so I took another the next day (meanwhile being super stealth and hiding the evidence in the bathroom so DH wouldn't find it). When the line was definitely there on the second test, I waited until DH took the dog outside for a walk. I grabbed a few little baby blankets and a neutral baby outfit and put it in the dryer. When he came back, I asked if he could check the dryer, saying that I thought I accidentally left a shirt in there when I did laundry last night. He grabbed everything out and looked confused for a minute, and then was like "you're pregnant?!" Later that day, he told me he was wondering why I was washing someone else's baby clothes haha!

I did this, and he still won't let me live it down. He pictured us together when I took the test, waiting the three minutes then checking together. But no, my impatient a$$ had to take the test when he was out of town and text him a picture. I definitely learned my lesson on that one We plan to have more than one LO, so I'll try and redeem myself then.
You know how, with NORMAL tests, the - line shows up and then the | one? Well, mine was opposite. The - line was HARDLY there, so I thought the test was defective. I took another test, same thing, and texted the picture to a friend. She also didn't know what it meant (neither has anyone I've shown the picture to!) so she took me up to Walgreens to get a digital. We got a two pack, and I chugged a bottle of gatorade (this all was around 4pm.) I took one when we got back, and it did the SAME FREAKING THING, so I finally got to the digital one, and it popped up "pregnant" INSTANTLY. Like, I zipped my pants and it was up. SO, I called DH, told him I needed him to come home (he works 2 minutes away, at the same place my friend does, actually) and he came home. I put the tests in a gift bag and had him open it when he got home. He had to sit down, he almost passed out. LOL. We thought we were going to have to go to a specialist to get pregnant, cause I wasn't having periods (3 in one year's time) so I actually had taken the test just because I knew they were gonna ask at the DR's office. I was 8 weeks along exactly!!

Thanks! We had been trying for 6 years with no success. We tried everything from me standing on my head to IVF and this one came as a total surprise! That's why I made him read the stick
We had been trying for a while - but not to his standards. To my sweet, nympho husband, trying means doing it 3x a day everyday while I'm ovulating. April 19 I had a followup appointment for cysts on my ovaries which the doctor thought the pain associated with them could be endometriosis. Anyway, I spent all day the 19th crying because I thought it was never going to happen and my husband wasn't getting why I was so freaked out.
We were set to go on a cruise the 27th of April w/ my whole family. The 23rd was our 1 year anniversary and he kept insisting something with me was off. I am really good at calculating my periods because I was trying to track ovulation so I thought with the stress of the endometriosis scare and the cruise coming up I had miscalculated by a week and really wasn't set to start until the NEXT Wednesday.
He had taser re-cert that day about an hour away from where we live and worked a different shift than I did. He told me to just go to Wal Mart get a test and take it before I went to work. So, I sat down, peed on it and I have never seen a line come up that fast.
I was texting him through everything and sent an OMG. and he sent a "stop playing, its not funny" and I said "OMG OMG OMG. Babe." and sent him a picture. The best part is you can see my underwear and sweats dropped to my ankles behind it and the line is very very faint. And he sends me back "THERE'S NO LINE!" so I took another in a different light. He sent me a text back that said "I TOLD YOU SO!"
It was NOT how I wanted to do it, but it worked out just how it was supposed to.
Me and my husband had just smoked a lot of different meat in his new huge smoker i had gotten him, and when we got done smoking it (7 hours) out of all the meat i grabbed the dear meat and started chomping down ( I never eat dear meat!) and I was just thinking wow im starving! lol After i got done with the dear meat and started on some ribs he looked and me and asked if I was ok? And I was like yeah, why? and he said you are just eating weird.....I sat their and thought about it, and then went to the bathroom and took a test and then came out crying my eyes out and showed him, immediatly we got up from dinner and went and bought 3 more test and sure enough!!! Ive never seen him so excited!

This was a very surprise 3rd. DH had a vasectomy scheduled and I'd just renewed my bcp.
