Help! Freaking out- re: infection. TMI

I am 9 days pp today. I went to the bathroom earlier and saw stains on the waistband of my underwear. I looked at my incision and could see that it was wet. I pressed on it and pus came out. I am on the verge of a major freak out. Pus keeps coming out. I am terrified.

I called my OB (the office had just closed) and she told me to put a pad on the waistband of my underwear to soak up the leakage and to call the office to come in first thing in the morning. This is my third c/s and this has never happened before. Has anyone had this happen? How was it dealt with?

My incision became infected twice PP. The first time, I had leakage, and the area around my incision was red, warm and tender. I had to have part of my incision re-opened, and it was cleaned and packed with gauze every day for 2 weeks. It is going to depend on how deep your infection is. Infections can cause tunneling, which needs to be treated from the inside out. The second time, I just used gauze and neosporin 2x a day for a few weeks, on doctor's orders. I also had to take oral antibiotics both times. Good luck!

My 3rd c/s I got an infection too. I went to dr & they put tea tree oil on it. I went back a few days later b/c I was still freaking out but they just put more tea tree oil on it & said it was healing. It ended up being fine but I do have a bigger scar leftover from where that was. It was like a pretty good size hole in my abdomen. Try not to freak out. I was in a panic about it & googling stuff def didn't help. It really wasn't too big of a deal for me in the end.

OP - did you go to the doctor? You said you were going to call in the morning, so just wondering what they said and if everything is all right.

Thanks for the info, ladies. I was so antsy that I didn't even call this morning, I just showed up at the OB office when they opened at 8am. They were really nice about it and got me into a room pretty quickly. The doctor drained as much as she could and swabbed it to get it tested. She then packed it with gauze. They arranged for home health care to come to my house tomorrow and show DH how to pack it so he can change it twice a day. I'm also on antibiotics now. Hopefully this will heal quickly.

with my first c/s I hand liquid oozing out of my incision area, it turns out my ob said I was healing from the inside out and just to keep it clean.  I rubbed it with Hydrogen peroxide everytime i went to the bathroom, it stopped oozing and was healed in a week.with my 2nd C/s I also healed from the inside out, but nothing was coming out of the open hole in the incision area.  Hopefully my 3rd will be better.
