S/O Stockings... help me out here.

I'm Jewish, H is Catholic. So, I'm fairly new to the Christmas thing, although we've celebrated together and with his family for years.

We're going to get new stockings this year - nicer than what we have and one for V.

When it's a family with kids, do the parents' stockings say Mom and Dad or their names?

My parents never had stockings, just the 3 of us did with our names on them. At DH's house the parents names/nicknames are on them. At our house now we have stockings but our names aren't on them.

Stockings are sooo easy to make! We made a few sets throughout my lifetime that lasted.  Just buy some felt to cut out the stocking shape, felt letters for names, and fur for the top.  We always had a little picture on our stocking.  Someone had a candy cane, or a tree, etc.  Oh! I remember when we were little all our stockings had little bears on them with xmas hats! 

It was fun

Our's have our names and we will keep it that way!

Ours say our names. Mine is my stocking from my childhood that my grandma made for me. When dh and I got married she made him one too. Now she made one for jake.

Ours have initials... Dh and ds1 have the same initials but DS goes by his middle name so we use his middle initial for now.

No hard set rules, we just got ours from Macy's during the Christmas season.
