Really?? I hated this book in high school. Of course, I might have appreciated it better if I hadn't been forced to "appreciate" all the symbolism and stuff in lit class junior year. I'm actually glad to know there's someone who likes it.

Favorite book of all time: Pride and Prejudice

    Favorite classic: Pride and Prejudice

There is a book out now called Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.  My husband bought it for me cause I am more of a zombie type book person.  Its interesting but I have a hard time reading it since I dont really enjoy that style of writing.

I have that on my nook.  It  was a free Friday book.  I haven't gotten around to it yet.

It's...odd. I agree, the writing style could be better. It seemed like the new author went out of his way to be crude.

  • I love Phineas.  I love the way he pushes Gene out of his barriers and his comfort zone.  I love the way he turns him into a monster, and how much doubt there is about personal responsibility and the capacity we have for good and evil.  I love the potential idea that Phineas isn't even real, just a facet of Gene's mind.  I think it's incredibly deep and says a lot about humanity.

That makes sense; thanks. It doesn't make me like the book more, but it makes me not think you're totally weird for liking it. Smile

I love how much love Diana gabaldon is getting. Jamie is so hot.

Didja hear they're (probably) making it into a miniseries?  Outlander was optioned years ago, but they gave it the greenlight and a screenwriter is working away on it.

I really liked A Separate Peace. I read it when my sister brought it home when she was a sophomore and then read it again 3 years later when I was a sophomore and my teacher loved me because I was the only student that didn't hate it. Also, everyone in my tiny hick town high school was like, "GAYS", because they're fuckings idiots.

Hahaha that's okay. And it's okay if you think I'm a weirdo too. I actually am kind of a weirdo, lol.
Yes, monkeybabe! I'm glad you like it too!
Fun fact: I lobbied for Phineas for a boy's name before we found out A was a girl. DH said absolutely not, ahaha.
