Two Under 2

Intro and minor freak out

So my little boy is almost three and a half months old. I have been exclusively breastfeeding and we have been using protection. However, I noticed a decrease in my milk supply, minor cramping and bloating. Thinking nothing would come of it, I took a pregnancy test yesterday, well four actually, and low and behold positive every last one of them. We are both in total and complete shock and I am having a hard time accepting this. I have yet to call the doctor, and honestly I am a little embarrassed. I don't even know how far along I am because I never even had a period. Anyway, I guess I will be hanging around here. I am mostly a lurker with the occasional comment and question.

Edit: I also have a new sn so I look like a total newbie =D

Re: Intro and minor freak out

  • Congratulations! My DD is 6 months, but we just found out today that we are expecting another! I also am a little embarrassed, lol, so we are in the same boat.

  • I was in the same boat as you (except for the EBF and protection) with DS2.  Never had a cycle and had no idea I could have been pregnant.  DS1 was 4 months old when I got my BFP.  I know it is shocking and scary, but now that they are almost 2yo and 1yo, I am so happy it happened.  They are growing up together and will (hopefully) be the best of friends.

I honestly think there was some crazy plan for DH and I (we always said we wanted a big family) because while being much more 'careful' after DS2, when he was 4mo, we found out we were expecting again.  I am due in Nov, and while I was again worried about what people would think, I was so excited to be having another baby and a sibling for my boys.  They will all grow up together as great friends!

Congratulations and H&H 9mo to you!

  • I know its really hard to grasp right now but there is a reason pregnancy is 9 months.  Give yourself time.  It won't seem real for a long while.

  • You are not alone. My son turns 3 months tomorrow and last week we found out I'm pregnant again. I only had 1 period so luckily we can get an EDD. We were totally shocked as well. Don't worry about being embarrased to call the dr. They will figure out how far along you are with a dating ultrasound. Depending on your EDD we might be on the same BMB. I'm due May 16th.
