It's a little early for me to be thinking of this, but when am I supposed to look at renewing our home study? Is it only good for one year? Do I have to go through the process of fingerprints, etc., again? Our home study got approved on Feb. 27th. I started the process of our fingerprints, etc., at this time last year and it took that long to get everything completed. I'm just trying to make sure I don't need to start thinking of it yet.
Re: Renewing home study?
I'd check with your agency. This likely varies by where you are and what type of adoption you are pursuing.
ETA: For us, for example, we had a certain timeline during which the homestudy had to be updated, but once we submitted it to Peru, the timeline stopped and we didn't have to update it anymore until our USCIS approval was expiring. Then, they required it to be updated, and Peru required copies of the new homestudy. Of course, we were required to inform them of any major changes to our household or family, which would have required an update.
This is what we will have to do,too. We are in NY.
