I am so excited that the birth center has found room for me even though I am 34 weeks already! The question I have is, how do I let my current OB/GYN provider know that I will be switching? I want to keep a good relationship with them as I will be continuing to use them for well-woman visits and things, I just don't know how to tactfully tell them that after all this time I won't be having the baby with them. (Background, the first time I saw this practice was right after I found out I was pregnant, so I didn't have a relationship previously, and I have seen 2 of the OB's and 1 midwife out of the almost 20 doctors/midwives that could possibly be there at my birth so its not like I have a long relationship, I just feel bad or feel that they will hate me if I switch)
Sorry if this sounds stupid, I really do just worry about things like this!

This. Usually doctors don't take things like this personally. Just let them know you want a birth center birth. That's a perfectly valid nonoffensive reason to switch providers.
