Hi ladies, new here and currently 3
months pregnant with triplets. I am curious if anyone that had a planned
c-section also had a doula. If so, what was your experience like? If
you didn't have a doula do you think you would have benefited from it?
TIA!
Re: Planned c-section and a doula
Congrats on your babies!
Multiples deliveries are very chaotic - especially when you start talking HOM. With my twins, there were at least 10 people in the OR at all times. 2 anesthesia docs, 3 ob/gyns (my friends), 1 scrub tech, 2 nurses, 2 baby nurses, 1 neonatologist. I also had an interpreter and 2 students. And my husband.
I doubt they will allow a doula + your spouse. A doula will not do much of anything for you in that situation.
There is also a strong chance with any multiples pregnancy that you won't make it to a scheduled c-section and he/she may not even make it.
I would not have benefitted from one.
Good luck and keep us posted.
