IUI done too late?

Hey ladies,

I know most of you are done with IUIs, but I did 4IVF cycles before starting DIUI this month so I am more comfortable posting on this board vs TTTC.
Friday my lining was too thin damn clomid!, so I could not trigger despite my lead follie 21. Instructed to test with opk Saturday morning only , if positive IUI the next day. If neg, b/w u/s Sunday. Opk neg saturday am, but of course I tested at night despite being told to test 1x per day and it was positive on Saturday night. B/w u/s sunday revealed I was surging, follicles intact and lining much better . Was told to trigger anyway and IUI was Monday morning 10:30.
I felt a lot of pressure after my trigger, the day before my IUI, nothing on the day itself though. I told the NP and she reassured me my cm was still clear on my cervix and we were still in the window.
I know that many of you have done several IUIs and was hoping to get your thoughts. I appreciate it in advance and wish you all the best on you treatment cycles!!

I have only done one IUI, this month but was told by my RE it was good I felt "fuller" and more pain in the ovary the day before.  Timing for IUI is crucial because the washed sperm can only live for 12-24hrs.  If you already ovulated, the egg lives for 24 hours so in an ideal situation, the egg is waiting for the sperm for a few hours.  Hope this helps and baby dust to you.

Clomid also made my lining thin... I had to cancel my first IUI because of thin lining. They added Estradiol the second IUI and it helped to make my lining nice and thick (although none of our IUIs ended in a BFP). Also my RE always tested by blood to see if I have ovulated rather than depending on an OPK. Once I had already ovulated and that IUI was also cancelled.

When did you RE do bloodwork for ovulation? Did you have bloodwork the day of your IUI?

I'm really hoping the surge they detected the day before was enough monitoring.

If I remember correctly, the last day of monitoring - day of or before trigger.
