Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Um, why are you up at 5am?

The past few days, DS has been waking up at 5 instead of 7 standing in his crib and will not go back to sleep! His naps have been shorter too, so he is used to getting 14-15 hours of sleep but now he is getting like 13! He just recently learned to stand in his crib, so maybe that's it?  He doesn't wake up at 5 crying, just jumping and yelling. Anybody else? Please tell me this will pass!

  • YES! DS has started doing the same thing this week. It takes forever to get him to go down for naps, and to bed, and then he's up early, happy and ready to play. It's like he just can't get enough of the world and sleeping in getting in the way of his play time. I'm hoping it's just a phase....I miss sleep.

  • yep. between 4 and 8 months, DS was sleeping from 7 - 7 at night. Now it's like 7 - 5:30. Sigh. Mommy tired. But last night he did 7 - 6:30 so that was better. And DD stayed in bed all night, too! Our household all slept in their beds all night long, first time in 2 weeks. I feel like a new person today!

  • The standing throws things off. Hopefully he starts waking up later, 5 am is brutal! That is one thing my LO does not do thankfully.
