Although I know a lot of babies/mommies have harder days, today was a sucky day for me in the NICU. LO had several brady's today...it has been several days (maybe even a week or more) since she has had any and it just wrecked my nerves. We kangaroo-ed again today and she had 3 while I was holding her and had to be put back. 2 she needed stimulation to come back up, the other she came up on her own. And then right before I left, she had 2 more - both she came up on her own. I left the NICU crying today because it just freaks me out when her monitors beep and I see her heart rate so low. The nurse assured me that it was ok, LO had a big day today (we nippled her for the first time) and she said that was a lot for her because they don't ever ask anything of her and told me not to worry. How can I not worry?!?!

I'm sorry that you're both having a bad day
I think your nurse is exactly right. She had a lot going on and that was probably her reaction to some of it. That's amazing she is already nippling! What a big girl! With these things just have to remember that is the reason why she is in the NICU on the monitors being watched closely by nurses and doctors. I would like to reassure you that at her gestational age, my boys were also having bradys and desats all the time. It was kind of their "normal". They eventually outgrew it and are obviously healthy and thriving now. Take care!
