Have a question about ready to feed formula bottles

Anyone using the ready to feed formula bottles with the nipple and ring instead of pouring it into a bottle? Any issues with gas or spiting up because there is no bottle ?venting system??

Re: Have a question about ready to feed formula bottles

  • We used the nipples that came with the ready to feed bottles while in the hospital.  They have a pretty fast flow, so he would suck up the formula very quickly, spit up and get hungry within a couple hours.  When we got home, we started pouring it into our bottles with a slow nipple and he has been better with it.  But that is our experience with those nipples.  I think the spit up can be attributed to the no vent system and the fact that he is taking in too much too fast.

  • I keep them in my diaper bag and use them when we're out and about.  I haven't had any problems with venting/spitting up.  LO does fine on them!  I did notice he is a little gassy and toots a little more!

This was our experience as well. I will be taking the slow nipples to the hopsital with me this time around.
