Preemies

*~UrbanFlowerPot~*

I posted this in the Wearing a Preemie thread, but I'm not sure if you went back and saw it.  You were talking about how it wasn't good to use the Moby when the baby was facing out.

"Is this true for a woven type of wrap or an actual infant carrier? I have a Moby and a Bundleboo.  I usually use the Moby when I have her snuggled in the hug hold, but I use the Bundleboo when I have her facing out at dinner.  "

TIA!

  • Thanks for paging me! I had not been back to that thread. I was just looking and looking for a good link to share with you but it seems I didn't save my favorite :/

If you're just doing FF while eating that doesn't seem like a big deal - it's a personal call (the interwebs will confirm that it's debatable and controversial), but evidence is showing that it's damaging to wear baby facing forward. They should be carried over the back to FF. It is also a safety issue because they can dart their little arms and legs out *fast* and one day you'll be surprised by what dangerous situations that can put them in. I totally ignored the advice and then ate my words. I wish I didn't have so many photos of him FF in the Moby, but what can I do? Lived and learned. I started doing it when he was a little older and he loved seeing everything. I was a sucker. ;)

Here's a link with a diagram explaining it a big more. I'm sure babywearing.com has more info.
