So I think I have a forceful letdown of a lot of foremilk because LO spits up a lot and sometimes it comes out his nose. Then I noticed his poop was more green than yellow and the peds office said it could be he is getting more foremilk than hind. He's three weeks today.
I had major supply issues at first. He was 9 lbs 5 oz at birth and he dropped 9 percent in the hospital. Since he has nursed and gained like a champ. But due to his weight loss, my suster's troubles she had with nursing and a LC I'm pretty sure works for enfamil, I got really concerned about supply.
I pumped and took fenugreek and now I think I have the opposite problem. I have no real need for a huge stash so I've stopped pumping. I also think its safe to cut out the fenugreek. Is there something else I can do to be sure he gets the hind milk? Anyone else have this problem? Thanks!

Then and now. How did my boy get so big?
Re: Hindmilk?
The biggest thing is to keep him on one side as long as possible. You can also let baby suck until the milk starts flowing, then take him off for a few seconds and let the gush go into a burp cloth (or if you're very talented, try to catch it in a bottle or bowl), then relatch. Nursing in a laid-back position with the baby on top of you while you recline can also slow things down a bit.
It doesn't really sound like you have a supply issue - I would quit the fenugreek and agree that you don't need to be pumping right now. I would also not worry about the occasional greenish diaper. If it's frothy and weird looking, that's one thing, but just a bit green... most babies do that now and then.

The pediatrician on call at the hospital and the LC I saw there both played the formula card. My milk took longer to come in because I had a c section and they made me feel really guilty about not wanting him to have bottles.
