daughter does not babble or mimic

Has anyone?s little ones had a delay in babbling and mimicing. My DD is 9 months and still does not mimic or babble. She squeals and makes sounds but does not say consonants or vowels. I have an appointment with early on development on Friday, but I just wonder what it means if she does not do these things. And how you teach her, I guess I am at a loss, I am not sure what to expect from her screening on Friday and what type of therapy helps with this. She also does not recognize words with objects yet, is this something she should be doing?

Mine didn't recognize words with objects at that age, and TBH at that adjusted age she wasn't really babbling vowels/consonants either.  You're taking a good step if you're worried, though: see what they say at the eval and take it from there.

^ Ditto, for sure. Good luck and hope to hear an update :)
